Ditto on the plethora of denominations. It's not so much that there are so many because for the most part they agree on the important things, but I definitely don't like the conflict/rivalry/outright hatred between some Christians of different denominations. For example the Catholics and protestants killing each other in Ireland. That's not what Christianity is about and I think they have made it more about their identity with their denomination than their identity in the body of Christ and that is a problem.
I dislike that Churches are primarily interested in accumulating members and influence and "saving" people from a weakly hypothesized eternal damnation rather than dealing with the more substantial problems of psychological and physical human suffering here on earth.
I hate it when churches lose sight of the Great Commission and start running the establishment like a business. I hate when they decide to stop tithing in order to save a few bucks. I hate when they are run by an older clique of people who do not let the younger generation blossom or have any type of leadership role.
I hate that people have strayed from the one true church. All of these false prophets spouting about personal salvation, fighting "HIS war" and being "reborn." That is NOT what He intended. I should know.
I like the food, though. Fried chicken on Sunday is like mana from Heaven.

ReplyDeleteI hate that it's broken into so many denominations, rather than one unified body, as God intended.
